The UPIM-01 Powerline Interface Module plugs into a standard AC outlet. On the bottom of the unit is a standard USB connector which is attached to a USB port on the computer on the computer using the included cable. The UPIM provides the interface between digital signals and the powerline.  This device is a Gen1 device and is identical to the Simply Automated UMC-USB-W CIM.
